Dundalk Avenue Streetscape: Project Overview

Project Limits:

• Dundalk Avenue from Eastern Avenue to just south of the City Line

Project Timeframe:

• Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2012 with an anticipated completion in Fall 2014

Project Scope:

• The purpose of the project is to enhance Dundalk Avenue for vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users making the area safer and more attractive.

Key Elements:

• Roadway Resurfacing
• ADA Pedestrian Ramp Improvements
• Dedicated Bike lanes
• Storm Drain Upgrades
• New Street Lighting including ornamental Pedestrian Lighting
• Upgraded Traffic Signals with Pedestrian Countdowns
• Decorative Crosswalks and Sidewalks
• Landscaping
• Artistic Elements

Roadway Construction:

• One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions throughout construction

• Contained work zones will be used to minimize long term closures or wide spread traffic disruptions
