A Guaranteed Ride Home for Baltimore

This month, the Guaranteed Ride Home program expanded to the Baltimore Region. What is Guaranteed Ride Home? It’s a free commuter insurance program for those living in the Baltimore region. If you carpool, vanpool, ride transit or commuter rail, bike, or walk to work, you are eligible for up to 4 free rides home per year in case you have you leave work early or stay late and miss your alternative transportation home.

Who is eligible for Guaranteed Ride Home? Anyone commuting to Baltimore, Central Maryland, or Washington D.C. is eligible for Guaranteed Ride Home – no matter if you live in Delaware or Pennsylvania and commute in. If you have an emergency at home or have to work unscheduled overtime, Guaranteed Ride Home is there when you need it. It helps you depend on public transportation.

Guaranteed Ride Home is easy to use. When you need a ride, just call the convenient number, 1-800-745-RIDE, to arrange for a pick up. Operators are standing by between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Typically, the ride home is by taxi cab.

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation offers a convenient sign-up form for Guaranteed Ride Home through the Rideshare Program.  If you’re already depending on public transportation to get to work, what are you waiting for? Sign up today.

Guaranteed Ride Home is a program of the Maryland Transit Administration and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Detailed Program Information is available from Commuter Connections (An MWCOG program).
